  • 10 jalapeños, halved lengthwise, seeds and pit removed (use rubber gloves to prevent hand burn from the jalapeños). If you can, leave the stem on some or all of the halves.
  • 250 grams room temperature cream cheese
  • 250 grams of shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 sliced scallion (green onion)
  • 1/2 teaspoons of salt
  • 1 package of chilled crescent rolls
  • 2 beaten eggs,
  • Candy eyeballs

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F. Using parchment paper or nonstick foil, line a large baking sheet with a rim.
  • Combine cream cheese, cheddar, scallions, and salt in a mixing bowl. Scoop into a plastic bag that can be sealed and cut off one corner.
  • Split the jalapeños and pipe the cheese mixture into the pepper halves.
  • The crescent rolls should be rolled out and divided into 4 rectangles, each with a perforation in the middle. To seal the perforations, press your fingers into them. Cut each rectangle into 10 lengthwise pieces using a pizza cutter.
  • For a mummy-like appearance, wrap two strips around each filled jalapeño half.
  • Place the halves on the prepared baking sheet, and bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Pull the poppers out of the oven, then press the eyeballs into the cheese where the opening is.
  • Transfer to a platter and serve your spooky Halloween appetizers warm or at room temperature.
