Miracle Tree's Blog - Are you Looking for a Caffeine Substitute?

Rid yourself of coffee and caffeinated products and have more energy throughout the day

Coffee is the go-to beverage for over 150 million daily drinkers in the United States. The National Coffee Association’s National Coffee Data Trends Report determines that 75 percent of American adults consumed coffee in 2020.   Daily intake of Caffeinated products increases your body’s tolerance and needs, which in turn pushes you to reach for multiple cups for regular energy boosts. The NCA’s National Coffee Data Trends Report determines that currently, the average rate of daily coffee consumption is about three servings. While coffee and the caffeine within it may not cause immediate problems, the dependency and side effects might make you contemplate of a healthier coffee and caffeine substitute.  Even more concerning is a trend of high sugar content in caffeinated drinks that can cause other health issues.

CAFFEINE SUBSTITUTES

Even though Caffeine may seem like a great energy boost, it comes with its own set of problems. Caffeine is a stimulant, which means it causes you to feel and perceive differently. It directly affects your central nervous system causing both short-term and long-term complications like anxiety, insomnia and issues relating to blood pressure. Caffeine addiction is extremely common in our country with 85 percent of people consuming at least one cup a day—whether it’s soda, an energy drink or espresso—and the withdrawal process is an area of concern for many who are trying to live caffeine-free (and sugar-free) because of the discomfort involved in it. It also hampers productivity due to withdrawal symptoms like migraines and digestive problems. This kind of dependency is pushing people to cut back on their caffeine intake and find a healthier caffeine substitute. Reducing your daily intake and easing out is the ideal way to do this. Black coffee essentially contains no significant nutrients and is highly acidic in nature. It does have some benefits due to its antioxidant content, but the side effects may not be ideal for everyone. It releases caffeine at once causing jitters, lack of focus and anxiety.
